In order to have an oil change at this stage, use full synthetic oil that meets Toyota’s standards for quality, such as genuine Toyota oil.

Tundra Maintenance Required at 15,000 Miles or 18 months

Everything from the 5,000-mile Toyota scheduled maintenance, plus we’ll inspect the:

• Ball joints
• Dust covers
• Brake lines and hoses
• Drive shaft boots
• Engine coolant
• Exhaust pipes and mountings
• Radiator and condenser
• Steering gear
• Steering linkage and boots

We might replace the engine air filter at this point in your vehicle’s maintenance to keep the combustion chambers working properly. We’ll re-torque the propeller shaft bolt and lubricate the propeller shaft on 4WD models, and we may adjust some fluid levels if they look low.

Tundra Maintenance Required at 20,000 Miles or 24 months

• Radiator and condenser
• Rear differential oil
• Steering gear
• Steering linkage and boots
• Transfer case oil (4WD)

Moving forward, your Toyota technicians will let you know what needs to be replaced or fixed at every six-month interval, and when to expect your next Tundra transmission fluid change interval. Of course, we always encourage you to bring in your vehicle if you hear or see something amiss, like a serpentine belt noise, tire noise, or grinding brakes.

At the 45,000-mile mark, we might recommend new tires, new brakes, and perhaps new spark plugs because some of these items will be close to their regular maintenance. If you drive in less-than-ideal conditions for much of your drives, you might have to replace these items sooner.
