How Does the Toyota Pre-Collision System Work?

So, how does the Toyota Pre-Collision System work to help you avoid accidents? As described above, the Toyota Pre-Collision System relies on advanced road-monitoring technologies to help mitigate collisions. The Toyota Pre-Collision System works in three phases:

• Phase 1– Alert: If the system detects a vehicle, pedestrian, or bicyclist in your path, the system will use audio and/or visual forward collision warnings.
• Phase 2 – Brake Assist: To help mitigate a frontal collision, the system will use brake assist.
• Phase 3 –  Automatic Braking: If the warning signs are not acted upon by the driver, the Pre-Collision System may deploy automatic braking.
